Jules Ang

I possess experience in usability consulting and testing, human-centric design and high-fidelity human interface design for web, iOS and Android platforms.

I architect solutions in tandem with stakeholder’s goals with a design process I’ve honed over the years, in order to drive overall efficiency of the business. My process requires of me to have a clear understanding of business goals and objectives, alongside technical capabilities of back-end and front-end engineering, so as to ultimately design and deliver a human-centric solution to achieve desired business outcomes and utmost usability for the user.

  • Transferred to newly-created Save Squad (Squads formation a result of me securing buy-in for gradual company restructure to high-performing cross-functional teams)

  • User research in Jakarta with PMs to understand local user behaviour trends in e-Commerce

  • Daily collaborative work with front-end and back-end engineers, solutioning for e-Commerce security and UX, whilst in pursuit of business goals

  • UI and logic specfications handoff work with Beijing engineering partners

  • Native e-Commerce experience in Chope app shipped to Singapore and Jakarta in Jun ‘18

Product Designer (Reservations), Chope

February 2017 - January 2018

  • Devised, coordinated and conducted 30 user interviews to guide and inform the design process brand new Chope app v4

  • Handled recruitment of users via Chope's existing user base and personal network

  • Interaction and high-fidelity UI work on Chope app v4

  • UI and logic specfications handoff work with Beijing engineering partners

  • Chope app v4 rolled out to 100% users in 5 countries by March ‘18

  • Interim Product Manager for 4 months, balancing business, UX and development priorities

  • Improve designer-engineer workflow by securing buy-in for handoff tool (Marvel)

Pro-bono UX Research & UI Design, Airfrov

October 2016

  • Pro-bono work for local startup Airfrov in the last 3 weeks of General Assembly’s User Experience Design Immersive program

  • Conducted user interviews and market research with 15 end users.

  • Designed and facilitated a Customer Journey Mapping workshop

  • UX and UI design for “Sprees” feature, implemented in Q3 2017
